How to Apply Press-On Nails
Remove your custom press-on nails from the packaging and in the order you wish to apply your set. This will make it easier when you are ready for application. Depending on the wearer, sets that are properly applied can last up to a week or longer.
Prep Your Nails:
- Wash your hands with warm soapy water and dry thoroughly.
- Use a cuticle stick to gently push back your cuticles.
- Use a nail file to shape your natural nails.
- With the nail buffer, lightly buff your nails to smooth your natural nail.
- With an alcohol wipe, clean off any residual dust.
Press-On Nail Application:
Glue Application:
- Apply a thin layer of glue to natural nail being careful not to apply too much or too little glue.
- Apply the press-on nail, making sure your nail is straight and within the nail sidewalls.
- Apply pressure for at least 30 seconds to allow curing.
Nail Tabs Application:
- Select the nail tab that fits your nail. Make sure it does not touch the sidewalls of your nail. Choose the next size down if it touches sidewall.
- Carefully remove the sticky tab from the backing by holding the clear tab.
- Place and position the nail tab on your nail bed.
- Gently press and smooth out the nail tab.
- Remove clear tab film from nail tab.
- Position and apply press-on nail over nail tab and press and hold for 30 seconds.
TIPS:
- Avoid getting your hands wet within the first hour or two. Glue may not be dry completely and soaking nails will decrease wear time.
- Too much glue can cause glue to spill out sides and too little glue can cause shorter wear and lifting.
- Apply a little nail glue to the press-on nail for better adhesion.
- Press-on nails are accessories and should be treated as such. Being to rough with your sets will cause chipping, bending, damage and even breaking.
- Use a nail brush to clean under nails when using press-on nails.
- Avoid very cold or hot temperatures.
